Hands-on Workshop on Microscopy Imaging and Analysis

Course Title
Hands-on Workshop on Microscopy Imaging and Analysis

Course Overview
Microscope images play a crucial role in the investigations of biological systems. With the great advances in Microscopy driving the multi-dimensional imaging data, image processing and analysis becomes inevitable in modern life science research. With the advances in the imaging technology, there is huge quantity of image data that is generated. By increasing the quantity and complexity of the microscopic (imaging) data, considered as a multidimensional numeric data, the advanced computational tools to analyse the data also increases. To extract the useful information from the image data, it is important to understand the basics of imaging, methods to process images and more importantly skills to acquire a good image data and perform the quantitation. In this course we would be discussing the basics of image acquisition , image properties, bioimage analysis, efficient methods/tools to perform quantitative image processing and some tips to acquire a good image data. This complete hands on course on imaging and analysis will help the participant to acquire the best images and build their optimised image analysis workflow for their own scientific question.
